The nearby video shows Mark Robinson addressing a city council meeting in Greensboro, North Carolina. In it, he makes an impassioned plea for residents like him -- folks he considers the "silent middle" -- to have their Second Amendment rights respected.

"You can take the guns away from us all you want to," Robinson said, "if you write a law, I'll follow the law, and I'll bring my guns down here, and I'll turn them in."

"But here's what's gonna happen," he said.

"The Crips and the Bloods on the other side of town? They're not gonna turn their guns in. They're gonna hold on to them."

"And what's going to happen when you have to send the police down there to go take them?" he said.

"The police can barely enforce the law as it is."

He went on to say that "we make the criminals into victims...and we're talking about restricting guns? How are you going to do that?"

It's a video we encourage you to watch in its entirety -- and make sure your elected officials see it, too.
